Drums
Drum Kit.
I currently own and play a 5 piece Ludwig Rocker Drum Kit. In my opinion you can’t find a better sounding drum Kit on the planet. The Ludwig Rocker Drum Kit is built with maple drums and heavy duty modular hardware. The Ludwig company has maintained a reputation for exceptional sounding and projecting maple drums. It’s a very loud drum kit that when played it makes it’s presents known.
Cymbals
I have always used Zildjan Cymbals with my drum set. Their are many other brands of cymbals out on the market but their sound to me is not very natural. As a result I use Zildjan.
Ideally I would be playing with Zildjan A Custom cymbals. I love their sound the most over other types of Zildjan cymbals. Unfortunately They are some of the thinnest made cymbals Zildjan makes and as a result I would brake them inside of a month. So it’s not very cost affective for me to use these cymbals on a day to day bases. I do use them when I am recording.
So for practice and shows I currently use Zildjan Z Custom Cymbals. They are thicker, last longer and have a dark, crisp, projecting sound that works very well with the style of music I enjoy playing.
My high-hat is equipped with Zildjan A Custom Cymbals. These don’t brake as often and I have yet been able to find a better sounding Cymbal to use for my high-hat.
Drumheads
I currently use Aquarian Drumheads. So far they have been the best I have found. My first experience with an Aquarian Drumhead was in a recording studio in Seattle. I end up using a studio snare drum that just happened to have an Aquarian drum head on it. Since that moment I felt like I found the right drumhead for me.
Aquarian Drumhead’s are made a little different then other Drumheads. They are designed to actually make a tone before even being installed on a drum kit. They are also very durable. I can’t recommend them enough.
