{"id":487,"date":"2008-08-19T08:33:53","date_gmt":"2008-08-19T16:33:53","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.yousephtanha.com\/blog\/?p=487"},"modified":"2008-08-19T08:33:53","modified_gmt":"2008-08-19T16:33:53","slug":"porcupine","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.yousephtanha.com\/blog\/2008\/08\/19\/porcupine\/","title":{"rendered":"Porcupine"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>One of the things I was shocked to find out when I moved to <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Juneau_alaska\" target=\"_blank\">Juneau Alaska<\/a> was just how common <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Porcupine\" target=\"_blank\">porcupines<\/a> are. They are in the trees and crossing the street. They are just about as common as stray cats are. You just don&#8217;t want to pet them of course. That would be a new kind of pain for me that I am not ready to experience.<\/p>\n<p>Like <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Bigfoot\" target=\"_blank\">BigFoot<\/a> and the <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Nessie\" target=\"_blank\">Loch Ness Monster<\/a>, my pictures of local porcupines have not been the best. They always seem to jump out of frame just as I get ready to snap a picture of them. But last Friday that all changed. Hannah was out walking her dog when she found a porcupine hiding in a near by ditch.
